In a world where the news can feel overwhelming, we believe there is far more good than bad – more kindness, care, and quiet strength than we often see. Your stories matter. Share them with family, schools, libraries, or your wider community. If we don’t tell them, they risk being lost.

How we bring our stories to life.
Creative writing
At the heart of the team is Penny, who has been telling stories since childhood. Her lifelong love of writing, imagination and people runs through everything we create together.
We write stories, poems and songs for adults and children, ranging from light-hearted and humorous to thoughtful pieces on wellbeing, nature and everyday life. We also create bespoke stories for people who want to capture memories, life experiences or special moments in a more personal way.

Publishing
WobblingPen publishes print books, e-Books and audiobooks, sharing stories that can be enjoyed in whatever way suits you best. Our published work includes:

Readings
We share stories in all kinds of places—community groups, schools, hospitals, care settings and sometimes completely unexpectedly in everyday life. A story told aloud can bring calm, spark memories and create connection. As Penny often says: “You can see a person relax, smile, and then begin to share their own story.” We also offer tailored readings for groups and organisations.

Performances
We bring stories to life through live readings, podcasts and spoken-word events. One memorable moment happened in a London taxi stuck in traffic. Penny offered to tell the driver a story. By the end of the journey, he said: “I never left my cab, yet I followed every story. Amazing!”
That’s what we aim for—simple stories that take people somewhere else, even for a few minutes.

Penny Wobbly
Founder and writer
Penny Wobbly, founder of WobblingPen, was born in Scotland during the war and spent a magical childhood in Malaya, now Malaysia, where jungle sounds, tropical monsoons, and voyages to distant lands inspired her imagination. After a rewarding nursing career and volunteer work with organisations including BFBS, The Cot Death Society and Canine Partners, illness redirected her toward writing. Supported by technology and “thank God for spellcheck,” she created WobblingPen to share stories, humour, books, audiobooks, videos and songs, extending friendship and comfort to people in hospitals, schools and homes worldwide.
Oana Patap
Co-founder
One of the co-founders of the Wobbling Pen literary project, Oana has helped develop educational and health collaborations. A linguist, interpreter, and Chartered Linguist, she trained as a teacher in Romania and now lives in the UK. For more than fifteen years, she has worked as a sworn Romanian–English interpreter, helping people navigate language and meaning. She holds an MSc in Human Resource Management and has contributed to research with the University of Brighton and Public Health England. Inspired by sociolinguistics, healthcare, literature, jazz, and nature, she values language’s power.
Jane Huggins
Proofreader, Researcher, Admin Assistant
Born and educated in Scotland, Jane gained a Diploma in Secretarial Studies with Languages (French and Spanish) before emigrating to New Zealand with her husband in 1983. Her varied career included roles as a secretary, insurance clerk, waitress and kitchen hand, before retiring as Principal's Secretary at a local high school, where proofreading student reports became a valued skill. She joined the WobblingPen team over three years ago through mutual friends. She and her husband have three children, seven grandchildren, and live west of Christchurch on New Zealand's South Island.
Cecilia Botha
Accountant
Cecilia brings extensive accounting expertise to WobblingPen, ensuring the business's financial systems are accurate, efficient and well managed. She plays an important role in supporting the company's continued growth, providing the sound financial foundations needed to transform an individual writing career into a structured, scalable business with an international client base. Her attention to detail, professionalism and practical approach help keep the business running smoothly, allowing the WobblingPen team to focus on delivering high-quality writing, editing and proofreading services to clients around the world.
Moro Samuel
Head of I.T.
Moro Samuel is an experienced IT professional with many years of expertise in technology, systems management and technical support. As Head of IT at WobblingPen, he ensures the company's digital infrastructure remains secure, reliable and efficient, enabling the team to deliver seamless services to clients around the world. Passionate about helping others, Moro enjoys finding practical solutions to technical challenges. A devoted family man, he also has a deep appreciation for nature and the environment, valuing sustainability and the outdoors in both his personal and professional life.
